That's right, and I'm sure you guessed, as a matter of fact some of you may have even rolled your eyes just now...jealousy is unbecoming...however this is my special list. Every year when I'm asked what I want for Christmas, I never have, what most consider, a "real" answer...my go to answer is, "A trip to Disney." Santa hasn't come up with it yet, guess he's a real penny pincher. So in honor of my annual request, here is a list of things I'd like to do/see while visiting Disney during the holidays. By the way, this list is not exhaustive, there is so much to see and do. Every corner you turn, it just keeps getting better. The decorations alone are a sight to see. No detail is missed, it's unbelievable.
My Disney Christmas
- Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
- Experience "Holidays Around the World" at EPCOT
- See the Lights of Winter
- Tree Lighting at EPCOT--AWESOME!
- Candlelight Processional
- Get hot chocolate and gingerbread at the Liberty Inn's life-sized (sorta) gingerbread house
- Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights
- Hear Mickey read Twas The Night Before Christmas
- Listen to carolers throughout the parks
- Marvel at the extensive holiday decor, you just cannot imagine...amazing
- Of course, EVERYTHING else you always do at WDW
Oh, I should also say, I'd never literally go over the actual Christmas holiday...the first two weeks of December are ideal. Just so you can visualize what it's like, here are a few pictures...beautiful right? I highly recommend it!
So in case you're wondering why the heck I'm making a Christmas list here in the beginning of October, then check out the 12 Weeks of Christmas over at Red Writing! Just click below....

That sounds incredible! I really hope we go there one year. The holidays around the world would be so cool. Of course I would have to get some of the hot chocolate and gingerbread that you speak of...I think I would just marvel at all the attention to detail.
Thanks for sharing your list. Hope Santa comes through for you one year!
Honestly I believe the hot chocolate is Nestle instant LOL, but it's so much tastier when it's served out of a gingerbread house. The great thing is, most people think it's hot in Orlando that time of year, and while it's not cold, it's probably the equivalent of fall in TX. The attention to detail is absolutely outstanding, maybe I'm biased, but it's truly unbelieveable to me.
Christmas at Disney must be amazing! I've never visited Disney. Is it actually open on Christmas day? I would always want to be close to home on Christmas day, but the start of Dec. sounds like a great time to visit,
It is truly amazing and, yes, they're open on Christmas Day. The Candlelight Processional occurs at EPCOT. It's a HUGE choir with a semi-"famous" person narrating the Christmas story, so beautiful. When I interned there, I remember hearing Jodi Benson (the voice of The Little Mermaid, Ariel) telling the story...so wonderful. I also heard Yolanda Adams and Gary Sinise narrating the same story. It's just amazing...truly.
I have never been to Disney for Christmas, but It WOULD be magical!
We just took our boys last January...and it was so sweet to see Disney through their eyes...GO THERE ASAP!
